The next instalment of Assassin’s Creed is coming, and the pirate-themed outing will bring back the impressive naval battles seen in Assassin’s Creed III, along with new protagonist, Edward Kenway, a pirate with assassin training. Not a mixture you want to mess with.

Hungry for all things golden and expensive, even if it’s not his, Edward Kenway will embark upon a wide-reaching adventure throughout the Caribbean, looting, fighting and exploring mysterious islands.

The below gameplay trailer shows that the game will still pack in much of the content AC fans want, as well as some new elements, such as underwater survival, improved on-deck ship battles and exploration of tropical forest-covered ruins.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U on October 20 in the US and November 1 in Europe, with a PlayStation 4 date to be announced.
